Photographer’s Note

What would Bangkok be without its backpacker heaven Banglampoo at the Khao San road? It's melting pot of East and West, but also a ghetto for foreign tourists. It used to be dirt cheap, not anymore, nowadays you can get rooms for all budgets. There is the action around the clock, it looks like, that Banglampoo never sleeps. Even "normal" Thai come and visit. There are countless restaurants for every budget. Who is to lazy to go to Chatuchak market can buy here among other stuff handicrafts, T-shirts and used books. It's really a place to meet each other and have a good time.

A good snapshot - so much to see and relates to your note very well. Love Thai people, soft-spoken, kind and warm people.

Oh yeah a great place to meet each other and have a 'Good Night & Safe Sex' signage screaming to everyone below.

What strikes me more in your shot is the big Durex ad. For the picture, it is a pity the ladies got their feet slightly cropped. Otherwise, it is a good documentary shot. Well done.

Hallo Urs,
Good night capture here, in a daily scene with a very dynamic atmosphere.
The luminous sign is very significant.
It is a clever composition, well executed, and without tripod!

Hi Urs,I have been visitor here since the early 80s, and yes its being modernised rapidly.Still has a great athmosphere and open 24 hrs .I like the inclusion of the fresh orange juice stall ,my favourite is banana pancake.Always happy to be there. Thanks Tom.

Hi Urs,
you have lots of peoples activity and also many beautiful shots in Thailand.
What attract me most is the signboard of Durex which is not to bee seen any in Malaysia.
Exciting pictures yeah.
