Photographer’s Note

It's the last day of the Song Kran festival, here in Bangkok. This is the celebration of Thai New Year. The festival starts solemnly enough with the pouring of scented water over the Buddha image. Then people pour water over the monks before visiting their grandparents and parents to pour water over their hands as a blessing. After that it all goes a bit wild and the whole country descends into a wild water-throwing party. Scented, white powder is also rubbed onto the face of others, as a blessing, but really as wild fun. I’ve never seen such a total countrywide party. It is total fun. Sadly, however, due to the high intake of alcohol and wild behavior more then 300 people have been killed so far this year. THis picture was taken outside the grand Palace. I have no idea whos bra he is wearing!
