This is another picture from the festival at this lovely litle Wat on the edge of Ratanakosin. It's a special birthday celebration for the abbot and the local scouts are providing a guard of honour for the officials and monks arriving for the celebrations.

Hi, Kevin, i want to be the one who gets you over the 1000 mark!
Ok, it's a bit tilted, does not have the personality of your GREAT shot yesterday, then again, you are one of the few on TE, who give us a pixel diary of their life in a country, thru special moments like this event. Your presence on this site is very special, and unique, my friend!

I am of those who LOVE Bangkok (and not because of Soi Cowboy either!) - I love it because of scenes such as this one. I love it because one staying at the Regent Hotel once, my wife and I saw a visit by the Prince, who was preceded by a little white doggie who walked proudly ahead of the royal down the long red carpet. I love Bangkok because of the klongs and the glimpses one still catches of river life.
Sorry for the gush. I realy love this pic, the second in a series it seems. Again crisp execution with the arriving monks treated like...royalty.

That's really interesting daily life shot of the event. Interesting perspective on life there.
