[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Dawn finds a homeless boy sleeping under a walkway in Silom Road, a fashionable shopping street, near my home. He could be an abandoned child, left to fend for himself on the streets, where he will end up glue sniffing and into petty crime or prostitution. However, he could be a poor boy traveling. The poor people think nothing of sleeping out when the are traveling. Then again, he could be an illegal immigrant from Cambodia or Burma: we don't know, but the only bed he could find this night was the street.

Hello, Kevin
Your photo and your note are very true about Bangkok and live in Thailand. : )

hallo kevin,
nice operation.because you took it at night.
i think when you pushed up the brightness,it made the color burned, that you've to make the b/w that is the good idea to do.besides,it makes this raw looking.
at silom,it has many this seeing, your picture shows the real.that i think,in many big city have this scene also.
good reporting photo.
regards
somkiat

Fantastic shot! This one just leaps out of the gallery to grab my attention. The pose is very unique and beautiful, even artistic, even though the boy is sleeping and not doing it on purpose. The black & white works well too. Excellent!

Great documentary shot, Kevin. He looks so vulnerable lying there on the floor near the wall. For this one the b+w was a good choise.
Great job,
Nino

nice Lung you know all people they move to BKK from Issan becasue they think here could be nice place for them and they just leaved land and farm and come to live in small room in BKK, good picture and good note

take care....Nong

This is bloody good, Kevin. Let me put it this way - to me your best, ever. The way you snakily fill the vertical frame with that poor lad7s body in repose...is brilliant. Excellent B/W photograhy.
I'd put it right into my favorites if I could, but I've reached my limit...Sorry.
Francis

I concur with francis,

your best shot Kevin. Youve actually hit a new level with this hard hitting, tragic reportage. The framing is perfect, the bw powerful.

Hi Kevin, missed some of your recents, but I must say ther's quite a lot of impressive new stuff there. This latest one is very powerful, well planned documentary, with appropriate grainy treatment.

This is really different for your normal style kevin, and very good. You can feel that you not freally at ease taking this, almost havign second thoughts. The noise somewhat preserves his identity, I feel. The S form through the frame worsk so well.

the POV and the b/w make this shot powerful.
I agree with the others... one of your best.

Hi Kevin,
Its hard life indeed, showing largely unknown (I guess unshown is the right word) face of Bangkok. Good choice for B&W.

Hi Kevin!
A sad scene but a great photo for sure! The B&W is perfect and I think the noise really makes the difference here, the result was great. Good work for sure!
Regards, Anabela

Powerful photo and accompanying note. Everything works together to present this boy. POV, b/w, and framing are all suburb. Rodney

Hi Kevin - depressing subject, rendered even more so by the BW, te result isn't meant to be pretty, but is an accurate description of unfortunate reality.

Hello Kevin,
you B&W conversion is beautiful and it matches very well with the dramatic situation of the man.
Very nice shot

Hi Kevin,

you have taken the photograph of this homeless & hopeless boy without giving him a slight chance to appear with some dignity...a terrible scene...cheers, arturo

Hi Kevin, A stark reminder of the tale of two cities! I stay in Sofitel near here, but never seen this sort of situation so a bit of a scare. Excellent POV making for a powerful photograph, a classic really. TFS. Murray.
