Early Morning
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
On the way to Kathmandu shortly before Christmas, we stopped in Bangkok for one night (and you know what they say about that...). Early the next morning, we went for a walk. Few people were around, only us and the monks on their daily alms-collecting rounds. Each was barefoot; each carried a bowl for food offerings.
This was hand-held and the glow off the monk's robe came from the lights of a passing car. |

Pretty amazing and yes...daring sht with these almst dayglo colors. I must say I like the effect.
Beautiful really.
Cheers,
Francis
I really like photos with contrast, and I think the juxtaposition of his bare, hardened feet against the "almost dayglo" colors is great. Neat perspective, too, looking at him from the waist down--a different shot from most of the ones with Bhuddist monks, and yet one that I think really shows the character of their devotional life in the modern world.
Interesting!
