Photographer's Note
While hordes of tourists frequent the Grand Palace and jade Buddha, giving folks a Disney-like experience, Wat Pho, housing the reclining Buddha seems like an oasis of calm. Just a short walk beyond the Grand Palace, there are a variety of nooks and crannies, temples and sanctuaries, full of photographic opportunities. Arriving around 06:00 guarantees a minimum of tourists and loads options.The buses start to pull in about 08:30. To add to the cultural experience, take a long tail boat to the jetty just about 5 minute from Wat Pho.
