The Grand Palace is well...grand. This ornate and eye catching compound of palaces and temples built for the Thai Royal family started life back in 1782. It was packed with tourists, as it is a rare slice of beauty in Bangkok.

I remember it well! I was one of those tourists some years ago, and knocked off a fair number of snaps, including this one.
Your picture would in fact be a fairly standard mug-shot of the temples, if it weren't for the lady and her umbrella, which gives foreground interest and counterpoints the amazing architecture.

These lady in foreground looks with a lot attention toward this wonderful Grand Palace.
