Another shot taken inside Bangpain Palace.
If i'm not mistaken, this is a replica of one of the goddesses in Greek methodology. I've choosen this foreground to emphasize the integration of Thai and European architecture inside the palace.

In PP i tried to paint the sky with blue. It doesn't seem to look very realistic but i think it looks more better than an overcast sky.

Bonjour, cher Albert,
Très bien cette statue grecque au premier plan, cela fait ressortir à merveille la magnificence architecturale en arrière-plan. Le ciel retravaillé est tout à fait réaliste et donne un coup de fouet à la composition.
Très bien fait.
Amitiés.
Philippe

Hi Albert,
The sharpness and details, the colors and small reflections on the still water are very god. I must say you did quite a good job with the sky, definitely much better than a white overcast one.
Best regards. Salvator.

Hi Albert and welcome to TE! I hope that you 'll enjoy your "stay" in this great comunity!

Seing your first posts, it is clearly visible that you have a great deal of potential and talent, no doubt and i think that your presence here will make Trekearth "richer"! You are excellent in architecture photography, the quality and definition of your pictures is absolutely impressive. You have a "thing" about reflections and I like it a lot! About this particular shot, the composition is flawless, excellent framing and perfect choice of a small aperture to have a great depth of field allowing us to enjoy both foreground and background views. Great light managment and fantastic colours. Indeed, it's a Greek statue, incredible thing to see in Thailand!!! Anyway, great job, congratulations!

Best regards,
Hercules

Hi Albert,
Another stunning composition with the lovely golden temple complimented by the soft blue sky and seen making a striking reflection in the clam temple pond. The European statue anchors the foregrond nicely as it contrast with the eastern architecture.

Hi Albert.
Very beautiful composition. The nice colors setting and the great contraste results in a very nice photography. well done. Thanks for sharing.
Best regards.

VERY nice job here, I love the box composition that's very different left & right, between foreground & background...
The image is also very sharp.
Again, I'd love to see more water reflections, but in this case the presence of the statue gives a wholly different meaning to the scene.

Hi Albert
I've never been to Bang pa in Palace, quite embarrassing really, as i live practically next door:))
You painted the sky you write, I think you got away with it all right, but it is true that it somehow doesn't look realistic.
Also interesting with the Greek statue in the foreground, looks out of place, maybe that is why the painted sky seem ok to me....kinda surreal.
Nice one
Harry

Hello Albert

Bang Pa-in Palace is really beautiful...
Nice PP work, bright colors, looks fine the "painted" sky.
Greek statue looks so fine in your framing.
Good work.

Kind regards

Great mix of Europe and Asia, there is something strange about the aura of the image, more like a retouched scan from film, I guess the note explains the cause.

hello Albert,
another great shot, I like a lot the striking contrast between the Thai and European styles, it certainly creates a very interesting scene. the exposure is spot on, but I'm not sure about the sky, it does look artificial, and I cannot helpt a feeling that plain overcast sky would not damage this photo. but that's a matter of personal preference, I guess :)

take care,
Kristine

YOU ARE A VERY PROFESIONAL, CONGRATULATIONS.

Hello Albert. The photo pleases me very well. The palace in the background and the figure in the foreground fit well, although they represent different cultures. Worth seeing. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Hello Albert,
very interesting...what a juxtaposition of two different cultures! beautiful.

Looking at the statue, I think it's not a godess - it's one of the Greek Muses. Actually, two of them in one maybe, because she holds a scroll in one hand, like Muse of History, Clio, but also a tragic mask in another which might point to Muse of Tragedy, Melpomene.

A very interesting photo, thank you!

regards
Marija

Hello Albert,
This is a fine composition, with a creative element in contrasting the statue with the temple!
Great sense of depth and sharp fine details, your D50 indeed delivers the result!

Hi Albert.
I've looking your gallery, really good.I like this one,I think you make a good work in PP with the sky.Besides this the sculpture in close-up gives to the picture a lot of strength[and I think she's a muse,I would say she's Talia for the smiling mask, but Clio for the paper in her right hand...I don't know exactely..,that crown and hairstyle aren't very specific, they are confusing me... ;)]
I like the reflex in water, and I think the shot has a perfect soft colours at background. This is a shot to watch and watch, really very beautiful picture, congratulations.
Best regards,
Sonsoles.
