This wonderful temple ruin in Ayutthaya is one of the most impressive of the old ruins and my personal favorite. The 3 stupas in the background are in perfect condition and really beautiful.
originally taken in RAW and later converted to B+W.

color version is posted in workshop as requested by Delic

Harry hi,really impressive result,looks like an extra-terrestrial civilazation!!Really great

Bold black and white, a very good image but it may need a slight rotation or it may be quite a wide angle making the tall architecture appear lop sided.
Difficult one to decide for me rotate or not?.

This is a superb, otherworldly image. B&W makes a great impression here, though I am curious to see it in color, too. I believe the composition is perfect as it is. Best wishes, Hakan

WoW! It looks so different in B & W... I also for the life of me couldn't remember the name; I knew this complex was part of the ruins at Ayutthaya but couldn't remember this actual place. Anyway, great photo; the B & W really imparts a different perspective and highlights the ruins; it appears much older and more mysterious. Great pic & thanks for the note!

Hello Harry,
Beautiful composition and perfect b&w processing. The polarizer allowed for a superb sky. For me, the b&w version is much more better than the color one because it emphasize the fantastic mood.
Really great job !
Best regards, Christian

Makes it looking like a lost world (and this is a lost world actually !!). The B&W is really beautiful and impressive (it was a good idea to post the colored version). Strong atmosphere and impact.

Excellent post processing for this ruin picture. The sky is also really beautiful with the clouds. Very creative work.

Hello Harry,
A great BW PP work, with nice contrast.
I like the atmosphere of this picture, and this temple looking a bit strange.
I really prefer the BW version, the color one is too flat to my taste.
Very nice,
JB.

I'm really torn between this and the colour version. I've always prefered colour but am slowly coming round to B&W. In some ways I wish you hadn't posted the colour for comparison, as without seeing that I was happy with the B&W. :) It is a very good quality conversion with plenty of different tones.
The composition is good with the inclusion of the foreground stones and the vertical format.
Still I can't decide which I prefer. Very good work.

Hi Harry! Excellent compo! Your conversion rocks! The place has that vintage look! The lighting and sharpness are beautifully executed! The stones in the foreground are well placed as well! Very good POV. rgds.

Hi Harry - indeed a very atmospheric ruin shot, more like a science fiction film set than a tropical tourist trap, one of the rare occasion where I prefer the B&W version.

Hi Harry!
Somehow, you gave a misterious atmosphere to these famous ruins.I like the original version but this one in B&W is really good. Well done!
Regards, Anabela

Hi Harry,

Real nice picture of the same subject as my pic, but yours is much more special. Well done. B&W together with the excellent. POV makes it very special indeed.

cheers,

This one looks extra, Harry.
it looks like a place from 'lord of the rings'. great mood on the photo. it looks really nice with b&w. great work.

Hi Harry,

I like your picture so much. It looks like intersting by BW. We can see the light combination on the ruins very good. But I think colorone is more better. TFS
Kind regards

Hi Harry,
A nice compo of Ayutthaya from good POV and correct vertical framing? B&W conversion works well, nice contrast too.. plus a beautiful subject
Well done
Laurent

Hi Harry
The nice shot.Very good composition and contrast.
Thanks for sharing

Jacob

Bonsoir Harry,
Superbe prise de vue qui s'apparente à une lithographie. Une image sortie tout droit d'un rêve.
Les ruines semblent avoir été réalisées pour les besoins d'un film ou d'un décor pour jouer une pièce antique.
Magnifique.
Amitiés.
Philippe

Hi Harry,
The WS version fits well to the memories I retained from this site but your choice of PP conveys very well a post apocalypse feeling that fits best to this view, very creative work indeed !
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hi Harry,

looks like something out of the 1930's, like a lost civilisation. Impressive in B&W though, I do like the colour version too. A fine capture, well seen.

Hi Harry
i like the treatement you gave to this picture. Excellent contrast frame and black color.
Well done
Bertrand

Hey Harry,

A powerful capture, moreso considering the history of the place. The B&W medium has made the texture more extraordinary. Amazing place rich with ancient history well presented here in TE.

Cheers!

Jom

Hi Harry
The black and white is most suitable here and I love the effect it creates. I like the colour too. You've used good foreground interest and everything is nice and sharp. Very well composed.
Best wishes
Mark

Hello Harry
The infrared effect with your PP work makes this a treat to behold. Love your POV with the battered statue of the elephant in the FG leading us to the trio of the distinctive stupas. The B&W works really well, definitely enhancing the appeal
