Photographer’s Note
This is the main attraction of the Bang Pa-In Summer Palace, the majestic Phra Thinang Wehart Chamrun (Royal residence of heavenly light). This Chinese-style two-storey mansion was built by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce and presented to King Chulalongkorn in 1889.
The Palace is near the old capitol of Ayutthaya about 60km north of Bangkok. Although royal residencies from the island are known from at least the 1632, the present-day royal palace dates from the reign of King Chulalongkorn (1868-1910), when most of the buildings standing today were constructed between 1872-1889. The building styles within the palace compound reflect the King’s interest in architecture with European, Chines and Thai styles all being represented.
Today the palace is used occasionally by Their Majesties King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) and Queen Sirikit as a residence and for holding receptions and banquets.

Hi Chris,
This palace is looking like a monastery. In Thailand Buddhism is very popular and the effect of the same is on other buildings also. You have captured it nicely with mirror image. Excellent work. Congrats.

Hello Chris,
A fine composition of this very attractive building. I like the framing from the surrounding greenery, which makes a pleasant contrast with the paler tones of the building. The lovely reflection is the icing on the cake. Very good colours and sharpness. Thanks for sharing.

Nice shot of this colorful palace. The reflection is great creating depth and balance for the shot. The lighting and colors are fine and the photo has nice sharpness. The angle of the works well giving the shot depth and direction.
