Photographers Note
This is the Ho Withun Thasana (The Sages Lookout), part of the very beautiful Bang Pa-In (Summer) Palace complex. King Chulalongkorn built the observatory in 1881 as a lookout tower for viewing the surrounding countryside.
The Palace is near the old capitol of Ayutthaya about 60km north of Bangkok. Although royal residencies from the island are known from at least the 1632, the present-day royal palace dates from the reign of King Chulalongkorn (1868-1910), when most of the buildings standing today were constructed between 1872-1889.
Today the palace is used occasionally by Their Majesties King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) and Queen Sirikit as a residence and for holding receptions and banquets.
This is 2 shots stitched together.

Hello Chris,
A very good capture of this charming pagoda like building. The vertical format is very well chosen to emphasise the height and include the reflection. Very good colours and sharpness.

Hi Chris
When I saw your photograph I had to look twice, but only after reading your informative note I understood, how you could take the tower this way, you stitched 2 photos together. Excellent framing and execution with the individual shots and in photoshop. I only can guess where you stitched the two shots together, very good work. Currently this shot is not possible due to monsoon and flooding, but when you visited Thailand in January, it was no problem. Excellent light management and find sharpness. Well done
Best regards

Hi Chris,
Nice and exotic architecture that is always interesting to discover.
I like the blend of pure colours, the reflection, the symmetry and the extended vertical format.
Cheers!

Very nice composition. I like how you've minimized everything but the pavilion and it's reflection. This is a nice crisp image with color.
Well done
Kate
