[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
In the ruins of a temple in Ang Thong province, these young boys were asked to pay homage to an elderly monk while the sun was starting to set. We were more than lucky to have captured such a wonderful scene. This is my tribute to Pope John Paul II. Though not a Catholic image, this picture manifests the pope's message of peace and love regardless of faith and cultural background.

Probably my last post before my 1 week trip to the Philippines. Have a good day everyone.

I like this photo alot as it portrays Thais respect for their elders and their beliefs so deeply rooted in their society. So good that one photo can express this so well.Perfect composition and highlights help the foreground to stand proud.Definitley a favourite

When i first saw this photo it was the color that grabed me and made me look at the larger image, then the expressions of the boys became clear. I particualy like the boy on the bottom right hand side as he is well in focus. This a graet shot. Cheers Robin

Very nice tribute... love the color and lighting...
Thank you for sharing!

beautiful color and afternoon light and how lucky you were to capture it in such a touching group of people.

What you did Manuel!
Fantastic play with color and light here with a very well timed note.
Well framed also.

I like the expressions you have captured in those young kid's faces. They are so sincere. I like the red ring on the kid's head, that more meaning to simply color in the religious. I like the DOF to have the background blurred out to focus on the main characters.
Well done.
Have a nice trip.

Wonderfull shot Manuel!! Very well composed and colorfull in spite of may be a lak of sharpness on the kids. Nevertheless, very nice atmosphere, I love it !! Have a nice trip lucky man ;-)

Beautiful light and colors.
I like how the childs look at the monk.
Have a nice trip Manny.

Beautiful! I love the expressions on the children's faces. You can see the respect! The colors are beatiful although part of me thinks it is slightly too dark. It is such a nice photo that it doesn't really bother me that much. Very nice! JP

Have a nice trip Manny! I leave for the Philipines on April 23 to visit relatives.

very soft light and a bit underexposed.
like it as the underexposure draws attention to the few light spots.

Wow, waht a fantastic image, Manny.
The saturation of colors, the backlight and the way it plays with their hairs, the expresions on the children faces, and the monk's face. I also like theway you included the small flowers in the FG (very sharp!). Excellent.
Have a pleasant trip.

Hi Manny! I like this tribute of yours. The boys' expression is very strong, and their respect for the monk is very evident. A very nice shot indeed. Once again, the colors and sharpness are very well done! rgds.

Hi Manuel

I think I would have preferred to have seen a higher dof used, but this is still very good. I like the backlighting on the monks head. Excellent lighting & pov. Well done!

Excellent composition with very fine, almost dark tones of well saturated warm colours, Manuel!
I wonder if the DOF could've been different so we had them all in focus...? Maybe not as I'm not familiar with techicalities of your Nikkor lens.
Bokeh is superb, makes a heavenly curtain so the scene looks like staged and maybe we would be deceived if it wasn't for that beautiful sunset light that the guys are backlit with.
Very tasty photo, my friend!

I like the note Manuel
But the expression on the three kids faces, there hands and the way the monk is sitting and talking to them is much stronger then the note
The kids look like they absorb every thing he is saying

Good shot

ISHAI

Great sort, teacher! I learn from you so much with your picture

Hi, Manny,
This is really a wonderful shot and it conveys just what you want it to. Nice work, and hope you have come back from your trip with lots more great postings like this one!

This ia again wonderful picture Manuel, great moment that you have captured, the soft colors and light are excellent, very good work and contribution, thanks for sharing.

Very exciting use of light here, Manny! I also really enjoy the softness of the focus on the boys, which directs more attention to the adult. Lovely, lovely photo!

Also I post a tribute and this one is a very nice tribute and composition that You post in memory of the Pope. Very well composed this ceremonial picture.

Thank Manuel for this nice post.

Fernando

Excellent shot! Very professional too. The colours are warm and suits the scene very well. Also the compostion is just perfect as the characters are nicely scattered in the shot.

Excellent photo Manuel! Very fine expressions from the people who are into it! Great low lighting and very fine colors. An overall fantastic job!

I like very much the quiet and timeless atmosphere in this picture. To make this shot perfect, in my opinion you had to well focusing the red t-shirt boy, increasing the deepth of field. Anyway a gret moment
