Silkroad travels: Pamir
We are on top of Kyzyl Art ashuu (=pass) now, on 4'336 m asl. The pass constitutes the border between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. You may notice the customs shacks further down. The landscape has changed again with the reappearance of those iron-rich mountains. The snow mountain in the back is an unnamed, 5'459 m high peak.
After 10 days we are finally leaving the High Pamir, it's much downhill now into Kyrgyz Pamir! But to our deception the road is deteriorating (see picture).

These were hidden SITES by the fall, whole these are exposed to the rest of the world and we wish to see more.
Yes, name as we call in Persion Koh stands for mountain and istan for place, Badhakhshan is also the name of a area.
Best regards and TFS.

Hallo Dieter!
So, dann geht's jetzt bergab ... ;-)
Grüße aus dem frühlingshaften Siegen (+10°C)

Hello Dietrich,
What a stunning rugged landscape. Great rich colours, especially the dark reds and purples in the rocks. Nicely composed too.
Cheers,
Caleb
