Photographer’s Note
Dave Chen, singing and guitarist of the Muddy Basin Ramblers. Last week saw the staging on Taiwan's first International Blues Festival. By night, Dave Chen plays the blues in a skiffle/blues band. By day, he patrols the streets of Taipei as a policeman.
Also, check out Leslie Chambers portfolio (leschamb). She has a few good shots of the day.

Very nice picture. A bit blue, but very sharp and I like musicperformance-pictures of course. Well done

I definitely like the expression on his face. Great moment.
I found photographing the guitarists so difficult-- trying to get the face and the guitar together in the photo is challenging. It leaves so much empty space (whether it's in 4x6 or 6x4 mode). You angle is good- not too much boring space. Too bad about the ugly colorful stage backdrop (but that's Taiwan for ya!)
In my photo of this same stage (on my photoblog), I used photoshop to blur the background and then masked it and painted in the blurred background. There might have been a better way to do this than my way, because I can see imperfections in my photo, but I like it because it takes away the noisy background.
anyway, I definitely dig the way the guy looks :)
