using black card(the exposure of two steps).it is the same view with sunset(4).it's different from white balance setting.
what is black card?In picture about two partial exposure times upside not equally therefore must have to look for the black paper which cannot reflect light to block a time shorter part to obtain exposes correctly(should shake the card)

I like the purple color too, and the small boat and wood were good position. But the sky, maybe the summer or fall seasons will be have better chance.

I can't understand well what you wrote about the black card, I knew the technique for photographing astronomical objects, but it seems different from the one you used. Whatever your technique you got a very nice picture here, with a nice blurred water resembling mist and an overal purple colour that is very pretty.
