Photographer’s Note
Patience really pays you back.
I was supposed to leave due to the poor sky half an hour earlier before the sun went down. Even the sun was covered by the thick clouds. But I ended up waiting for a while and a miracle.
When the sun hid behind the hill, things changed......The sky, the sea, the reflection on the coral reef in the middle were colored by the warm sunlight. Immediately, I changed the composition, metered the light again....every thing to catcher this special moment. I decreased the exposure time(2.5 seconds) a little bit to enhance the atmosphere. Also you can find a S-shape curve made by the sea water.
The spectacular moment lasted for only 5 minutes. Luckily to have this shot.

Well done Jim, this truly is an exceptional image, and definitely your patience paid off. I really like the lighting on the coral and the movement in the lighted water. Well captured.
Cheers Grant

Hi Jim
it's always worth waiting, even when the sun is behind thick cloud and you think you are not going tom get any decent pictures, on a couple of occassions i did leave and regretted it as on my way home the sky has opened up and the colours have been amazing. like this shot a lot, beautiful colours and nice foreground interest with the coral especially with the golden light on it.
