Photographer’s Note

A good day to try a new gear - Sigma 17-70 mm.
It did fulfill my expectation.

The waves kept surging and covering everything,
including the rig rock under my feet. And the sunset was embellished by the colorful clouds.

I started thinking what to do with this impressive moment. After observing the waves for a while, I decided to keep the movement of waves at the foreground. The problem was the light conditions between the sky and the sea, 8 seconds for the sea and 1 second for the sky. I used black gloves to cover the sky until the exposure time was 1 second left. Also I waited until the waves were higher enough before shooting.

Satisfied with the effect.
