[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This photo compliments (in my opinion) the other scooter photo that I posted last week. Foe more info on scooters please read the notes for that photo.

I think I must have tried maybe 200 panning shots, and there're only 3 or 4 that I'm happy with. I took about 12 different shots of this scooter as it went past me.

I cropped it a little, sharpened it and altered the levels slightly. It's alittle overexposed in places, but I'm glad that the girl is in focus.
I'm not too sure if this image should be cropped to just include the scooters, and less of the car as the bottom left corner is a little empty.

Really good example of panning, so much motion blur but your subjects on in focus. I like the bottom left beign empty for the scooters to ride into.

Hey Will,

man, im dizzy. What a feel of motion! I can actually see the motorbike move! And man, you nailed tha focus right on. This is really good stuff.

Taiwan? Are you now in Taiwan?

Hi Will,
Well 4 out of 200 ain't bad if they're as good as this. Panning isn't something I have the patience for at this point in my learning curve...still trying to remember to change my fstop back from whatever I had it set to (or the ISO)
This worked really well....if it was one fo the ffew that worked you got really luck with the second scooter and the car as they are really well placed. Gives a good feel to the bustle of an Asian town.
Cheers
Mark

Hi Will.
This is an impressive shot. My eyes basically drift of the screen following the motion. Well captured.

Sharpness is perfect here in the foreground, while you got the speed effect so well in the background. All these metallic colours are very well rendered as well. Excellent job. Congratulations.

Hi Will.

An good panning. They are always difficult and in this case, you did it really well.

My compliments!

Rgs, Oscar

Hi Will, Good result in a difficult task of panning. One of the many things ahead to try to master. Good to see this veryy typical view of Taiwanese lifestyle. Good work. Murray.

Hi Will,
Lovely panning shot, spot on! Great dynamic, movement and I like the colors. TFS!
Regards, Jino

Hi Will, I like this one as it is - I think the space in ffront of the scooter is fine - gives the imagination space to fill the gap with the forward movement. It's great how you describe your success rate with panning shots - so many people look at images, try out ideas and give up at the first hurdles - we just have to keep working at it so often! Well I do anyway!

best wishes Kev

Hi Will,
Good one! Nice focus on the gal and guy. I think the crop works fine as it is; you ask about the lower left corner: I think that in order for the dynamism to work, we should have that strip of road ahead, so as to envision where our bikers will be in the next split second. Well, I just noticed I agree with Elaine on this one.
