A couple days ago, I uploaded this photo of the same guy. This is simply a different view. Taken in Yehliu, Northern Taiwan.
ISO 200, handheld, full frame, normal post processing, focal length 200mm.

4me that's great photo, it makes me think about the smallness of human comparedto the sea, great shot

Good DOF. I find this as an excellent shot considering the nice framing and interesting subject. Well Composed. good catch!

great shot darren! i really like this sense of loneliness that you convey perfectly in this compo;-) this one belongs to your good work;-)
you seem to be less present nowadays? just busy? or just tired?

what a loneliness!!
your compo restores this feeling of loneliness well. one sees there a pensive man vis-a-vis with the sea and sees nothing others.
often that in the moral one is not good, one places oneself vis-a-vis at the sea and one listens to it.
I find this mood here

The blurred see makes a wonderful background for the figure of the man. Compared to the previous photo this picture gives us the expression of his face. Good job!

As suual Darren, your clarity and colors are sterling. There is an element of graphism here and I like it. Good shot.
I REALLY like your homepage...I have to say it again. Did you design it yourself? How much will you charge if I ask you to make one for me.:)?

I remember the other one, it was good but I think I like this one better. This says more about the man, a good portrait really even if half figure. So full of tranquillity. The blurred sea makes as a good a backdrop you cabn get, no distractions whatsoever.

Interesting composition, though closer to your classic Darren style...
One of the things I wondered : wouldn't it be improved with a -1/3 to -2/3 EV less or perhaps a lack of contrast/saturation issue? I feel this is (very) slightly on the bright side...
The bokeh quality is very strange, not really the best ever I've seen. Looking closer I also think you've tried to play with a contast mask, there's a halo around the guy...am I right?

you seem to get around Taiwan quite a bit. i should get some travel tips and places to visit from you! i'll be heading back home in december and i'll be staying for a good few months.
good choice of the simple composition. well done!

I like how you framed the guy and the ocean. Very beautiful ocean colour embraces the guy who is in deep thinking. Very natural expression on his face. He is really in a thought as if he didn't know that you were shooting him. (By the way he looks like Daibustu, statue of Budha)
