Just outside of the Yehliu Geo Park, there are some really nice stratified rocks and lots of guys out fishing. This guy was just taking a break from fishing to enjoy the view.

Un réglage d'optique sélectif sur l'homme qui regarde la mer agitée avec un backgroud flou c'est génial !
Le sujet est positionné sur un point fort qui attire le regard, cela donne beaucoup d'intéret à cette composition.
Bon travail Darren.
A selective optics adjustment on the man who looks at the rough sea with a fuzzy backgroud; it is brilliant!
The subject is positioned on a srong point which attracts the glance, that gives much interest to this composition. Well done Darren.

I like this composition with nice colors and light. The colors are well contrasted, this is very colorful.
The man in the right and bottom part of this composition is well situated.
And the DOF is well managed.
Good photo Darren.

Hi Darren, I have mixed feelings about this picture, I like the colours, I like the composition, the way there's still some sea in the upper right corner, the white water, but I'm not sure I like your DoF, of course the man stands out very nice against the sea, but considered your title, I think I would have like the sea in focus as well. I'm really not sure, may be there's too much blur.

one of your best that ive seen darren :)
what i like about this shot is its simplicity here. you were lucky to be in a place with such a good light and a beautiful landscape. but youve taken advantage of it all to it's fullest.the composition is excellent.
ive noticed that in almost all your shots, you have used a telephoto lens and a very shallow depth of field. i feel that if you had used a wide angle lensa here and maybe a horizontal version, it would have added more to this photograph in the sense of space, composition and feeling.
this is still one of your best in my opinion :)

Quite a good picture as usual, but I would have loved a greater deepth of field. I don't care for the blurry rock.
I guess it's a matter of taste, anyway.
Keep the good job.

I like the composition, but the DoF is a little too much. The background rock is too out of focus; I'm having a very hard time looking at it for more that a second or two 'cuz it disorients me.

That's indeed a style change, I have quite a few things to comment about.
The good ones :
you included a guy taken from the back, I like backs, as I seomtimes wrote it can be as expressive as faces,
Not the best ones :
I'm not sure about the back "expression", the guy seems to rest his head directly on his shoulder like he was shortnecked...it gives him a bulky feel I don't like.. I wish he had extended his neck a little...
Rock on the upper right corner, crop that off immediately...
Skeptikal about DoF is it too blurred is it still too sharp... I shouldn't be left wondering about that, that's then an indication it's not optimal...
All in all a good try but I think you need to do that more often to control everything about landscape photo.
oh did I mention the colors are good?
