Very interesting image. The gift of life is truly the most beautiful experience. I tink you did a very fine job with this moment. The belly and the doctor remind me of one of those old painting found in my doctor's office. Good light and details. And yes, babies' hearts truly beat fast! Thanks Darren.

I have to stop and leave my thoughts here. You know I'm a sucker for anything sentimental and baby-related..(not in the cute baby related way). If I'm correct, wow! congratulations Darren - such good news. How many months is she? I anticipate more on your personal blog once she/he arrives..

The lovely sentiments which surround this image are justified by the picture. Its really very nice - Again, fairly bright, but I think this is nice and goes with the subject. So pure and - the environment, being clinical and all, I feel the brightness fits. I also think this would look very nice in black and white. My favourite parts are her hands - I like where they are positioned and his hands in relation to them. He looks like he is squeezing quite hard. The creases in his hand are a nice touch. I think my favourite-favourite is her foot though..

Beautiful, sensitive shot, Darren, makes for an interesting contrast with similar scenes recorded in Polonaises's gritty BW pics from Poland over twenty years ago. Again nice rosy, pastel tones from your Pentax lens.
What were you doing there y the way...?

just checking my e-mails and reading my te alerts, really late but i couldn't resist to comment.. well i guess your secret's out :-)... i like very much the magenta/pinkish colours, very fitting for the occasion... the four hands and the foot - as kaj also mentioned - are great... in fact i am wondering about a version where the doctor's face is cropped (you can see him on his id tag anyways)...

"wasted" yet another sunday... did you end up going to ximen ding?... by the time the rain stopped it was too late...

Cheesy lyrics! :))) Oh well, every great man has the right to have a moment of weakness once in a while! Especially when something extraordinary is happening. And, as I understand, something extraordinary is on the making in your life. So, you are fully forgiven! :))
I really like the soft tones, here. And the plays of hands (and a foot, worth to mention!). And for sure, the belly, full of promises, full of Joy to come (and nights to be awake!). There is a softness in the photo that is not coming only from the tones. Tenderness would be more appropriate, I think.
Like some have already mentioned, this reminds me of this photo, and this one too, of George, only many years later. So, what has been high tech once never last long! :)

P.S.: I came to your gallery after reading what you wrote in that forum thread about the stealing of images. It's the most sensible and intelligent and reasonable I have read about that fact. You surely don't condone theft. That is quite clear. You speak about attitude. And your words are words of freedom to me. Thanks Darren. It is a real pleasure to read such wisdom...
