[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Here is some more of the Su-hua highway. This is a panoramic photo of 5 vertical shots stitched in PTGui. Hence, the burned skies on the left. The Sun was very strong on that day, so it was quite difficult to get the balance of light correctly. I tried my best not to have too much darkness over clifs and too much light over the seas and skies. I managed to do something with the sea, but not with the skies.

This is a classic shot of Taiwan. You can find a similar posture in the Lonely Planet guide immediatelly in the begining of the book. I did my best not to miss this special spot and take this shot. But, the time of the day was not perfect. I guess this is what happens when you are not the pro to spend an extra day in the area waiting for the proper light.

Here is some info on the Huide tunnels, which this photo features. You can see three tunnels. The one on the top is the new Huide Tunnel which was oppened in 2001. Two below it are part of the railway system and the old part of the Su-hua highway, looking from left to right respectively. In their vicinity there exist a trail which is a part of the the Taroko national park area and it takes you down to the sea level with a flight of stairs.

Techincal note

I did some PS post-processing, where I tried to balance the light between the left and right. Some deshadowing was also applied to go along with contrast and brightness adjustments.

I hope you like it!!!

Hi Alan,

Yes, the bad light it's difficult for shotting. But you did still good, we can see the blue sea very well. And thanks the note..

Cheers!

Beautiful landscape. This is the part of the road I didnt get to yet. Wonderful colours, cheers

Hi Alan,
This place is truly beautiful.
I love thew luxurious green and the blue of the sea.
The Tunnel opening gives a good sense of scale.
