Photographer’s Note
This photo is the first High Dynamic Range photo I have taken. This is a combination of 3 bracketed shots. Please give me some pointers so that I can do better in the future. This picture is near the epicenter of the big earthquake we had back in 1999. It is located in central Taiwan.

Hi, friend!
Welcome to TE! It is very nice and very interesting view. I like your composition. Good colours and light. Interesting modern bridge and beautiful nature.

Hi, Thomas, welcome to TE!
This is a very good first submission. The composition has strong diagonals and a nice focus of interest (the bridge tower), and the lines of the bridge cables mimic the mountains behind them. The roadbed does create a horizontal dividing line, but a subtle one, and since it is not an even division it's not really a problem here. (Something to be aware of in the future, though.) You have also managed the light well, avoiding a blown-out sun on the center left.
You might try to bring out the lines of the bridge cables more, however. They do tend to get lost in the immediate background. You might consider some Curves or Hue/Saturation adjustment, just on that color area (and possibly selecting the area so that other similar colors in other parts of the photo are not affected).
Best of luck!

Hi Tom;
Welcome to TE, home of photography. You did very good job with HDR which brings out nice effects for this photo, especcially the background and clouds. I like your POV but I'd prefer a bit higher for 1/3 rule. It's not a fix principle but in my point of view, it works in this case. Just my humble ideal.

I like HDR, but I don't experience of it.
However I like your shot. The colour are nice.
I 'd try this technique , too...
Very well.

Everything has been said about your picture so I only say that I agree and ask for more shots like that!

Darn Tom, I cannot believe you would dare to post such a travesty! Just kidding. Nice to see you finally posted something even though you forgot you even had a membership here. I love the compostion of this shot and that the clouds are so interesting. We all know how hard it is to get a non-hazy day here with the dam humidity. Only one critique really. I think the trees in the background look overworked, surreal even. Otherwise, you have shown a lot of improvement. Cheers, Paul.
