Matsu Pilgrimage Photo

Photographer’s Note

The Matsu Pilgrimage began last night, when Matsu (a statue of the god) departed from Dajia on a pilgrimage of over 300km throughout central taiwan. Before and during the departure, various organizations put on performances in front of the temple which houses Matsu. This is of one of the performers.
The pilgrimage is the best time in Taiwan to take photos of worshippers, because most are totally engrossed in their worshipping to be concerned about any foreigners around taking pictures.

Great shot illustrating the diversity of our planet's cultures, best seen at special periods such as you caught that one at.

I'd wish for slightly less of a close-up (crop?), and maybe a little bit more centered-off face but IMO.
All the samea very valuable addition, and to boot: exposure and sharpness leave nothing to desire.

Hi Leslie. Cool shot here. I think what really makes this work for me is how his eyes match his make up. Both appear very unhappy to me. Nice, pleasing colors and good use of DOF too. Nice shot.

That face is espectacular. With these drawings I think that is amazing. His slips are saying just the opposite than the painting over them. And that eyes!!!
