Riding the trains is one of the joys of travelling in Sri Lanka.
Slow travelling rules!
This picture was taken during a stopover in the Colombo Fort station.

No critiques? How strange, because I think this is a bold photo - most members would not choose to include so much of the red metal. But I like your placement of the window top left, and the intense expressions on the faces. Also the contrast with the other window, where the glass is down and reflecting the station, is a good feature. At first I thought I would crop out the window on the far left, but I tried it out and now I think you got the crop right.

Nice scene. I like the red color of the trainand the opened window with the people well in the frame.
I wonder if it could not be better in a panoramic crop keeping the top of the view. A matter to do the comparison.

I like the scene of the family at the train window.First,I have thought that it would be better to do a closer view, but I have red your answer to Andrew and Yves, and know that there is no better solution than your post of today.Anyway, this is a nice picture.

Another one of your great train pics from Sri Lanka! This sort of "weathered red" is lovely. And some nice casual expressions on the three window people! You have really portraid the vintage feel well. Very fine, warm regards,

Vermoedelijk een beeld dat meer voorkomt in deze landen, bij ons kunnen de vensters niet meer open op de trein.
Samenstelling en onderwerp zorgen voor sherp en aangenaam beeld met zachte kleuren.
Goed gedaan, bedankt.

This may not be the most fastest train in the world but it has a certain charm looking at it. But who needs 'speed', Benny. Years are going fast too. Nicely caught - I like the coach numbering and of course the deep maroon is delicious to watch and those orderly commuters that add to a pleasing compo. The reflection on the window invites the eyes into another dimension, a great addition! A fine shot

This is a friendly photograph, so we can see a family in left window and the reflection of station in other window. And, it's impressive in red color of train's body, too. Good daily life shot!

The intense look on the faces of all 3 family members is a strong feature. Ever though they only occupy a small portion of the image they are real eye-catchers and are full of detail. They are well framed by the red metal carriage. Cheers and happy 2012, Marlene

A classic sub-continent picture. I have never been to Sri Lanka, but I remember scenes like this from my time in India. Nice colours in the foreground (and unlike some countries I can think of, not covered in graffiti.
regards and thanks, Iain
