Photographer’s Note

This is a picture taken at a communal well in a rural village. It is adgacent to a lush paddy field. Two village girls had come to have a bath - and a nice chat.

I like it how i was able to capture a good level of depth in this picture - the paddy field in the background seems to flow on for ever.

Also, this picture tells us a lot about their daily life - even going to have a bath is a big part in their day ... and also a place to meet!

Hey Anjula,
Sri Lanka is a place that i really want to visit. I like the insight your photo gives into the daily routine of these girls. My suggestion would be to try and get closer to the main subject, as the girls are not prominent enough in this photo. Interaction between the two would also have been nice.
