Near the Sri Lankan city of Galle are a number of turtle hatcheries, all of which aim at providing the five species of sea turtle that are endemic to this area, a shot at life. The Olive Ridley, Loggerhead, Green and Leatherback turtles are all part of this conservation project. This thiugh, is the most beautiful of all - the Hawksbill..a stunning specimen, who was aiming with all his might to get out of his little tank and hoping to get to the sea, just a few metres away. These little hatcheries make money out of tourists who come and pay a visit, but the good thing is, most of them plough the profits back into conservation.
