Elephants galore Photo

Photographer’s Note

This picture was taken at the famous Pinnewala Elephant Orphanage in Sri Lanka about 30 kms from Kandy. This orphanage houses about 80 elephants of all ages from really cute and inquisitive babies to mature and aging pachyderms. There is an entry fee for visiting this place and for some "tips" one can actually feed the elephants some milk and also help them with their daily bath.
This place really does get you spellbound marveling at one of the largest but gentle of the land species.

What a neat shot! I love all the elephants and the dappled light falling upon them is very nice. Beautiful light and contrast and the colors are excellent. That is a marvelous sky, too. Nicely done!! Kind regards,
