Photographer's Note
The island of Sri Lanka has had more than its share of suffering. A civil war raged in the country for decades and on Boxing Day 2004 it was hit by a terrible tsunami. Both disasters caused death and devastation.
Now Sri Lanka is picking up again. After having lasted almost 30 years, the civil war ended in May 2009 with the Tamil Tigers conceding defeat. And many of the areas hit worst by the tsunami have been rebuilt.
But there is still work to be done. Away from the tourist areas the effects of the tsunami are still very visible. And legitimate Tamil grievances and aspirations still need to be dealt with.
But there is hope now, and there is peace.
---
This picture is dedicated to all people of Sri Lanka, whom I consider to be among the most polite and friendly on earth. May they have the power to rise above.
This picture was shot on Kallady, near Batticalao, one of the areas affected worst by the 2004 tsunami.

Delightful shot Benny - clean, simple lines and lovely shades and tones of blue. One less bird would have been nice (lol!)
Best regards, Roberto

Hi Benny!
Together with your great note, this is a very symbolic shot.
A great composition with this arrangement of birds and their shadows contrasting very well with the sand,in contrast with the blue in blue of the boats, the sea and the sky.and following the rule of thirds.
Have a great weekend,Leo

Hi Benny,
an excellent shot to illustrate your point. The scattered birds, the facing boats....love it!

Bonjour Benny,
Une photo très graphique, presque surréaliste avec ces oiseaux placés à intervalles réguliers sur la plage. J'aime bien les deux bateaux qui complètent la palette de bleus.
Amicalement,

Hi bonjour my dear Benny
Sorry for my late reply as so busy at weeday.
This your new posting is so artstic.
Nice combination of three blue objects, that reflects your high sense and wonderful inspiration very well.
Nice framework and complete composition are as usual, as your trademark too. 4 birds are also good accents.
Thanks for sharing with your finest work and have a good Saturday, Best regrads.

Hi Benny
Nice idea to this photo with great composition. The symmetry of the horizon and the boat fitted into the part of sea is wonderfully done. The crows in fg added more life to this photo. Great composition.
have a great time,

Dag Benny,
Zeer originele opname.
Groetjes,
Christian

Hi Benny
Minimalist but also full picture with the birds on the foreground. With this POV it seems that the sea is being opened in 2 parts. I like also the different blue and the contrats with the sand.
