Photographer’s Note
I was trying out a hdr shot of this old passage way but didn't like the way the colours turned out, so i played around with some black and white options and decided on a high contrast option.
Originally, a five different exposures converted in Photomatix.

Black&White Rules! The angled viewpoint gives it a tremendous feeling of solidity here, even if the buildings are actually on the verge of collapse.

There is a beautiful and strange atmosphere in your picture, judicious use of the b&w... So congratulations and sorry for my poor english...

I like the composition. The way that you play with the lines.
The high contrast was a good choice.

Hi Wil,
Your work with tones and contrast turned out well in my opinion .. but it is the perspective .. pretty much a study in perspective .. that makes this image wonderful to me .. even from the thumbnail .. thoughtful and evocative image.
take care,
John

This is very nice - amazing that it's made of five exposures - it really has a low-tech feel to it.

Hi Will.
Very moody and dramatic. Great choice of B&W and good conversion work. Great low POV and composition. The only improvement might be in the sharpness. Otherwise, well done.
Regards, Steve.
