It is a quite unusual picture from you but it is not less good than the others. To the contrary, I think it is more humanised and much straighter to real life. I do not know why but I did not imagine this type of old/poor suburbia in Seoul. The guy looks like waiting for the mobile to start rigging and not having a “siesta”. I like it very much. Well done.

interesting photo as usual. I like the atmosphere with those 2 people waiting, killing time... excellent b&w.

Something in this photograph hits you...i think it
s the crude arrangement of the structures..jutting in and out..and your choice of black and white adds to it...i think the conversion through channels was a little harsh (contrasty) ?... :)

To u was też jest sjesta? Dobre zdjęcie z ciekawą kompozycją. Fajne spojrzenie z góry.
Pozdrawiam.

Nicely composed, Rafa - once again this deserves to be see BIGGER if you know what I mean - so much detail, so much to take in. I'd like to see this printer large - you know I respect you for uploading what you believe are good shots - I tend to think more of the "small" format which constrains us here... but that's my mistake maybe.
Best,
Francis

Hey Rafal,

A different image here, a break from those intense moment series...Such a 'sleepy' town as captured...the emptiness, slow paced 'stillness' of the atmosphere quiet makes lazy feel to it...though I'm not sleeping over this image ;)

It has the'journalism' touch which is tastefully done as always.

Pozdrawiam

Jom

This one looks so familiar. Probably I've seen it before on flickr/pbase or maybe I am being confused by this place. I remember other photos from this descending. It's a great spot and this one is very beautiful. I like the quietness of the moment and the fact that no one is looking at you. Normally I would like to see people looking at the frame, but here this sense of voidness makes perfect sense. It boosts the character of the scene tremendously. The black and white is once again very beautiful. Great wide photo Rafal.

As a side note I would like to see them I am not missing your color shots very much. There was a time that I missed them, but I guess I am being more and more used to your wonderful b&w. Keep going my friend.

Interesting composition. A kind a fatal attraction down the street where a beast seems to wait for poor no-defense victims to be swallowed, difficult to resist to a kind of sad destiny.

Thanks, Alain -

Hi Rafal,

Interesting shot. Takes a few seconds to get used to the overly sharpened feel it has, but it works well for this shot! I should try that as well one day.
Nice PoV with two people waiting, separated from one another, their own thoughts, their own waiting game. Nice one.

Greetings, Dennis

Hi Rafal,

there's a sort of vertigo in this picture, I feel like I'm losing my balance, falling into this street... it has an interesting composition of space, slopes, and gravity.

Such a busy image here, everywhere you look theres a piece of urbanity. You also portray a sense that something is about to happen, that these people are waiting for something, whether it be for somebody to walk out of the many doors, or for a car to turn around the corner.

Time stands still here, Rafal. Nice to see such a spot for me these days, having not had a real summer yet...
The angle is what defines this shot for me, but without these characters it wouldn't give this much strength. A formidably composed one again, iwth impeccable tones...

Being from the part of the world I belong to, I could not miss this photo. "Siesta" and yes, there is a mood of siesta in this moment, maybe because of the perspective, I feel tired just to imagining I have to climb this hill, so probably I feel quite related with this man.
There is some scientific research about the siesta, and they agree is a healthy sport, so let´s siesta. Take care Rafal.

Rafal ???
Jinju...???
Oh, brother...!
It's you and it is not you..
Two people in one photo... Wow !!

(:-))))

Great production, in its purity...
Your very own purity - that is.

Hi Rafal
Excellent plunging view which makes me feel as if I'm going to fall. There's so much detail and textures here with the broken up pavement and stickers on the pipes. Excellent balance and weird atmosphere created by the 2 guys not looking.
Regards
Nikki

the way you caught this street is well seen,
good POV and framing,
not sure about the man, but about the street it's perfect ;)

Hi Rafal
very cool picture with lots of geometry n depth...Love the staircase on top left and the amazing lines running on the ground that cleverly links up the two people...beautifully done.
Cheers

Hello Rafal
Excellent use of wide angle to capture the spirit of this neighnorhood, very nice depth and great mood
Well done

Hi Rafal, i remember another shot of you of this place..
This image is very very good, there is a great perspective, a nice piece of the town, but what i like mostly is the boy on the right side with the cigarette in the hand..that balance the subject on the left side..
bravo!
i like a lot!
ciao!
Valeria

Empty streets of Seoul...
How interesting to see this simple scene from the city of technology. It almost looks like taken in some place deep in China.
The exhausted siesta man, the umbrella and the distinct boy create a wonderful trio of loneliness. And the "depth" of the descending street gices a third dimention to this loneliness. Hard photo to read (had to encounter for almost one minute), but slowly it reveals its merits. Congrats,
Deniz

Hi Rafal,
This one, unlike most from you, leaves me less moved...I find it difficult to penetrate. Perhaps too many visual elements pull me in all different directions. May be it is just I...

kapitalne...w kazdym calu, odjechane, "nudne" do bolu..sjesta, samo zycie, nic sie nie dzieje...
(nie jest prosto, wbrew pozorom, pokazac "nicniedzianie sie")...

I love this wide angle view and the strong feeling of solitude on that photo (like many other pictures of you, actually). you've really got a great style.

rafal, anaother great one. It reminds me of the hilly places in my country with those steep roads. The b/w works well. You have nicely captured the details here. great work.

Hi Rafal. Nice b&w series. Like the high perspective here which makes the depth come out very good. Man, this a steep climb!

These street scenes are great Rafal. The b&w you have off to a t and just love the way the image is set up as the street falls away. A quiet moment for them as you say, which comes across really well.
