Photographer’s Note
Sometimes I visit 'old' Jeonpo Dong, one of the many older parts of Busan, and always find something interesting to photograph. In this one, I wanted to include a figure surround by buildings. It goes in my theme of man surrounded by concrete (or various forms of man made structures). I've got about 15 shots now taken over the past 18 months. Only 15? Well I'm a little picky in what i want to show and will often go back and 'remove' an offending photo.
The picture quality looks a little grim in this one. I think because there's so much detail in it. As a small size it looks a little off, but printed large it looks nice.

This pic illustrates that random urban clutter can be sophisticated as a photographic subject.
The elevation of the hill going up adds to the depth of the picture. It reminds me infact of Brazillian style of shanty housing actually.
I have been to Busan a few times and it is a style of housing that is different from the usually concrete towers. Well done.

Busan is a great place. Lots of character. Im always looking for these sorts of old neighborhoods in Seoul, but they are disappearing fast here. The clutter is great, good subject in the old man.

Hi Will,
Well he might be surrounded in concrete but least its colorful...
Theres definately still some character left in the town.
Cheers,
Dave.

Will, missed this one some how, it was while I was on vacation I guess. I like the colors and the jumble, especially the Christian church in the middle of it.
