Photographer’s Note
Another in my continuing series of filling the frame with concrete and then waiting for a suitable human to enter the frame. I could have picked a suit, a woman with a shopping bag, but no, I picked a girl in pink. Why? Well there were a lot of girls in pink that afternoon and it seemed ideal to include one!

Very clever composition and as you say, a planned shot that would have been hard to do shooting from the hip. It proves that good things come to those who wait!

Hey Will
Very sharp with good detail. Nice bg and the girl provides that splash of color. Good lead lines. Well done.

Well composed, Will with a terrific title, witty and poetic all at once. There are places like that aruond Tokyo too, sure. That PINK in all that modern drabness... Cool shot.

Very strong composition. the little girl is right into a gold sport. Well see. Good perspective too. Our eyes are involved to going toward the buildings by the ramps each sides.
One bad point is the electrical wires who pass through the horizon but they can be removed in post production.

hi Will,
what i prefer is the movement of this photo, the small body in front of the hudge building. So this shot,i would like it even in B/W.

Hi Will
good shot with great composition, tiny girl + big boring building...its like she's the only 'live' in this place...and then the pink shows up well against the concrete. maybe some dramatic /dynamic lighting is missing, but the effect is very good already.
Cheers

Hey Will,
you coming for the Capa exhibition?
Taking a look at your shot took me to this photo. This frame is so claustrophobic. But what a great photo of Korea where you wont see the horizon unless you go to the sea. Any large city here is basically like being almost suffocated by apartment blocks. It can get claustrophobic1

Pink riding hood going to grandma's, big wolfie could be stalking from anywhere. Guess which window.
Nicely done but oozes anxiety for me. Probably because there's no escape from any side. Remember the traveler's golden rule : first thing to check when you've come to somewhere is how you can get away.

Will - good theme to produce a portfolio on. I do like images where the subject is only a small part of the picture.

There is something very touchy about this photo- I can't explain why, maube its the cute little creature contrasted by the stone and cement monster.
I think this photo can work really well if you do partial desaturation and leave only the girl in color- this will enhance the effect I was referring too (and then you can change the title to "EVERYTHING BUT THE GIRL")
