Photographer’s Note
today is lunar new year ... and the year of the pig has begun!
i went walking around town today and captured this photograph in one of korea's many buddhist temples.
this shot was from "jogye sa" ... a famous temple in the centre of seoul.
btw, i didn't update my profile, but i've changed my camera gear. this was shot with a D200 and a 70-300mm VR lens.

Hi, David.
This is really impressive, the stunning level of detail you've got with your D200 (congrats, great gear!), the wise compo and the serenity at Buddha's face. I would be happy to have this one in my gallery.
Regards.

Happy year of the pig, or is it actually boar? I've heard of both versions. Wonder if there is actually a difference? Love the portrait quality of the way you have captured the image. Good to see you around again.
Cheers,
Enrique

awesome detail here. such a clean statue, flawless even. i like the subtle colours here. so different to the usual vibrancy you usually show. it's a nice change...

Hi David,
Great work. I like how you have off-centered the statue. I have seen so many shot with a straight on shot of these guys and it gets a little boring after a while. You have added a little more interested to this shot by simply and effectively moving the frame over.
Oh and happy new year!
