Photographer’s Note

stewils and i went traveling up into the mountains to visit a remote buddhist temple. the temple was very beautiful and the best part was that there were hundreds of small statues around the temple complex.

i took this shot of steve while he was climbing up the stairs to the temple. a small buddha was in my line of view, so i made the most of it to get this shot.

Very unusual and interesting black and white compostion with focus on the statue and a quite busy backgorund. A great experiment.

Nice document of your trip here with comparison of both the old age statue and the modern looking Steve. Only improvement I could offer, is that you bump up the contrast a touch, it seems a little too light.

Very good compo here. The focusing on the statue is great, it gives a good DOF to the image. (Same remark as vapours about the contrast.)

i like the contrast of the statue's lines and steve's lines on his clothes and equipment. i'd agree about a touch more contrast but that'd be about it. nice job!
