Photographer's Note
Kimchi is a traditional fermented Korean dish made of vegetables with a variety of seasonings. There are hundreds of varieties of kimchi made with a main vegetable ingredient such as radish, cucumber but especially cabbage.Kimchi is also a main ingredient for many Korean dishes.
They eat kimchi literally with everything!
Kimchi has been served daily in every household at every meal throughout generations of the nation for thousands of years.
Traditionally, the greatest varieties of kimchi were available during the winter. In preparation for the long winter months, many types of kimchi were prepared in early winter and stored in the ground in large kimchi pots.
These pots is what you see here.

Hello Kris.
I thank you for the interesting and informative note. I often wondered what kimchi meant as I drove past restaurants here in Melbourne which used the word 'kimchi' in the name of the restaurant. I think your photo was very carefully composed and it's a fine exposure. The array of pots makes a very good foreground, and the tree and building a great background. Nice rich brown tones and good control of the highlights where the sun glances off the pots. Well done.
Regards,
Andrew
