Photographer’s Note
Color or B&W, please let me know, the color one is the exact photo with the color turned back on.
As in most Asian cultures fish play a large role in the diet and in the central area of South Korea it is no different. When you see these people that work the stalls in this dank part of the market one has to wonder if their hands ever warm up, I doubt it.

The B&W is nice but for a market shot I do prefer the colour version. Otherwise, the light is nice and the sharpness is good. Well done.

Hi Greg!
Fish markets are a must see. I went to the market in Seattle, and it was so cool to see them throwing fish all over. I wish I had a camera then.
I like the B&W look. I haven't done one yet. I also like the capture of the lady in action.

Hello Greg,
Nice scene showing piece of life in Korea.
It is difficult to chose between the B&W and Color version. I think I prefer the color version.
This because the contrast of the 2 shots is a bit low so that the B&W is too grey. This issue is the same for the color version, but it is counterbalanced by colored spots.
The photo is good but should be more worked in Photoshop to find the right balance for contrast what will not be easy due to the particular light.
Yves.

ciao Greg,
B&W dalla tonalità scura in cui fai risaltare il contrasto delle lampadine che illuminani la foto.
Ottima la composizione con la donna chinata sul banco del pesce.
buona giornata

Hi Greg,
splendid B&W photo of this fish market, the composition is attractive, superb timing and light control, rich details, the colour version is superb likewise, but, the B&W is better because suggestive. Tfs! Have a nice weekend!

Hello Greg,
You capture the atmosphere well, I assume this is early morning as she is preparing the display!
A fine documentary and the action is well recorded so is the typical Asian mood...
I'm not that fan of B&W anymore but here I fits the situation quite well!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Greg,
I like the colored version better. For me the red creates more atmosphere in this closed area then the B&W version.
Good compo and good colors (for the workshop version).
Have a nice day,
Harko

Hi Greg. I bet it’s not just the cold they can’t get out of there hands ;-). Colour for me, I think its just the way I see things. Nice slice of daily life. Well composed and thanks for sharing.
Have a good week, Paul.

Hello Greg,
What most strikes me is that they sell the fish at night, surprising.
Singular capture everyday life perhaps something different from the West.
Best regards,
Charo

A fine capture Greg!
colour of B&W are both valid. B&W give more a sense of old movies, of a misterious, esotic and intriguing place.
The light management is perfect and so the composition and clarity.
Best regards,
Donato

hi Greg,
I think I prefer the colour version, I feel that it better captures the barely controlled chaos of the typical marketplace. in general I find it difficult to imagine photos of food of any kind to work well in B&W, I think the colour is essential in creating positive emotions about the food or meal (hope I make sense here).
best,
Kristine

Hi Greg,
Very nice night shot of this lively fish market.
I love the attention that the vendors give to displaying their catch is the most flattering manner.
Regards, Tom
