Photographer’s Note
Jejudo is Korean island in Pacific Ocean south of Korea. Being surrounded by so much water does not mean that water is plentiful. So, water was carried around with great care in specially designed for this purpose jars. Here, in Folk Village, they are standing on upturned kimchi jars, another "custom design".
Kimchi - pickled vegetables are a must at every meal in Korea - at least it appears like it to me. It could be, the most common, Chinese cabbage, Korean white (and huge)radish, and all kinds of veggies with or without fish sauce, hot or mild, big chunks or chopped but always delicious (you can get used to it) and healthy. "The most healthy food in the world is kimchi."
Kimchi jars can be seen everywhere, usually part of the roof in a house is designated for it's production with often very narrow stairs going up there. They have designated refrigerators for kimchi after it has fermented enough. In WS I will show kimchi storage at a small temple on the side of Geumjeongsan mountain.

Hi Chris!
An eyecatching photo and a very interesting comment and workshop too - especially concerning kimchi. These pots a very similar to German Sauerkraut-pots. Please look here and I think the method of conserving it is quite similar. The shown pots in your photos are very aesthetic. You've really seen a lot during your visit there ...
May I say that your last photos - for me - all were a bit too dark?
Greetings from a rather autumnal Siegen - brrr!
Frank
