Photographer’s Note

This is another from my industrial night series. These steps were welded to one of the silos. Would be just perfect if a worker was walking up the steps, alas reality sets in and the realization that who in the right frame of mind would be out there at 1am in the cold...other than myself. The shadows casted here really caught my attention.

Good use of side light. The stairs create an interesting diagonal lines with nice shade on the tank.

no worker, no problem! still looks great but if you set the timer, run over the stairs and do it yourself. call it "industrial self-portrait" or something.. would be cool.

anyway, i love the shadows in this one. creates nice angled lines from the steps. as usual, sweet contrasts too. sometimes being awake at odd hours can pay off...

Great balanced composition and light.
Almost an optical illusion here, with the steps in the foreground seeming to be going into the photo rather than left to right.
Striking and original, well-done!
