Photographer’s Note
On 18 May 1980, the military government of Korea, in cahoots with the police force, gunned down hundreds, (perhaps thousands?) of university students, & civilians, protesting for a return of democracy. Today, the students are recognised as heroes, & the military & police as villians. This is the memorial garden at the entrance, taken late afternoon, near sundown, on a hot August evening.

Hi Chris,
it is always a pity that such incidents seems to be needed to build nice places, and for the better incidents no places are erected. I like the clear reflection and the good colours of this, the curve of the bank adds some dynamic and the soft and structured grey of the sky is pleasant here. Great definition.

Hello Chris,
A good point of view on these memorial gardens making good use of the curves in the landscape. A pleasing soft light with some nice reflections and natural colours. Strange how such changes come to pass.

Salut mon Ami Chris,
Excellente semaine.

Hello Chris,
On my monitor the green seems a bit too saturated but having said that the picture is really very interesting and so is the story which tells us about this almost forgotten historical fact
Friendly yours- Izzet

It has a quintessential South Koreanesque style, concrete + grass + medium sized trees. Nicely landscaped. Well done.
