Photographer’s Note
Another view of the Haedong Yonggung Sa Buddhist temple, north of Busan, & adjacent to Songjeong Beach to the south. That's the white Goddess of Mercy near the top of the hill, at left. Notice the crowd of people on the lookout at top right.
"Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is situated on the coast of the north-eastern portion of Busan. This superb find of a tourist spot and temple offers visitors the rare find of a temple along the shore line. Most temples in Korea are located in the mountains. Haedong Yonggungsa Temple was first built in 1376 during the Goryeo Dynasty. During the reign of Uwang, the great Buddhist teacher known as Naong established this temple beside the sea. Haesu Gwaneum Daebul (Seawater Great Goddess Buddha), Daeungjeon Main Sanctuary, Yongwangdang Shrine, Gulbeop Buddhist Sanctum (enclosed in a cave), and a three-story pagoda with 4 lions can all be seen looking out over the ocean."

Hello Chris,
A well chosen point of view to capture this temple complex. The foreground rocks give a good feeling of depth and the people pouring over the bridge contribute to the mood. Good colours and sharpness.

Hello Chris,
The architecture is so strikingly different from anything I would see at home.
Lovely pov, using the textured stones as a lead towards the bridge, linking the f/g with the b/g.
Nice dof.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Chris,
The presence of the people has an effect of scale. The trees are framing well the different buildings of the temple. The bay leads our eyes toward the temple which is giving depth to the composition. The intensity of the light is giving a good contrast to the colors. Have a nice day.

Salut Ami Chris,
Très bon cadrage de ce paysage côtier qui semble être très visité vu sa beauté. Les couleurs sont saturées etmontrent bien la structure de la roche. Très bel endroit que tu as certainement visité avec plaisir ;o)
Excellente fin de semaine !

Hello Chris,
The angles of East Asian rooflines are usually beautiful, and here you've given us a small demonstration. In the distance I see the colossal statue that stands out against the lush green trees. Thanks for the informative note that completes a very useful Trekearth package.
Warm regards,

It is a nice place by the sea. And it must be very popular seeing the number of people standing on the lookout and bridge. Korea has been in my wishing list for quite a long time but I have the idea that it is an expensive country to visit. Is it true? As expensive as Japan?

Hi Chris,
nice to look at the temples. It's position is really pleasant. The coastal area is beautiful. The men at right top corner added life to it. Light management and clarity is fine. Tfs.

Hello Chris,
Typical temple architecture but maybe not so typical location!
The rugged shoreline makes fine setting for the fine buildings, presented in a balanced composition with good details...

Hello Chris,
Tourist site which seems very visited when one sees the number of people on the image… Not astonishing, the site is superb and the environment is as much. The rock foreground gives an excellent contrast with the remainder of the landscape. Beautiful and interesting photograph, thank you Chris.
With all my friendships and very good Sunday,

A graceful Buddhist temple by the sea shore is really - for us -an unusual and very appealing sight. I like your composition with the fine rocks in the foreground and the view of the arched bridge. Good clarity and fine depth.
Best regards,
