[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
In 2005 I made a trip to Seoul, armed with nothing except 1 MP point-shoot camera and without a good knowledge of photography which I have since acquired from TEers here. This is a landscape shot.

The only country with a land border to South Korea is North Korea, lying to the north with 238 km of border running along the DMZ. South Korea is mostly surrounded by water and has 2,413 km of coast line along three seas. To the west, is the Yellow Sea, to the south is the East China Sea, and to the east is the Sea of Japan (East Sea).

Early visitors to Korea remarked that the land resembled "a sea in a heavy gale" because of the large number of successive mountain ranges that crisscross the peninsula. The tallest mountains are in North Korea. The tallest mountain in South Korea is Hallasan (1,950 meters), which is the cone of a volcanic formation constituting Jeju Island. There are three major mountain ranges within South Korea: the Taebaek Mountains, and Sobaek ranges, and the Jiri Massif.

Unlike Japan or the northern provinces of China, the Korean Peninsula is geologically stable. There are no active volcanoes and there have been no strong earthquakes. Historical records, however, describe volcanic activity on Mount Halla during the Goryeo Dynasty (918–1392 AD). (from wiki)

Very beautiful!! I like this pov, the scenery is lovely. Very good color and detail. I especially like the boat included. TFS

Hi Bill,
A nice shot as always. Also a nice place to visit. A few points to discuss.
I'm not sure about the light & contrast(it seems less). The moving boat gives great effect. But The pourtion of the ship at the right buttom may be avoided.
Bill, i think, there is too much sky.A cloudy sky is very attractive for photography. Anyway, still it's an opinion.
Regards
Manas

Hello Bill,
Beautiful scenery and great frame. The boat in motion gives much dynamism. Well done my friend.
Cordialmente,
Charo

Hello Bill, A nice image, your photography skills are evident here even though it was taken with a primitive tool, well composed, clear shot with natural colour, well placed boat to add interest, a shot worth posting & worth looking at. An formative note.
thanks

Hello,

mangigique vue, ce bâteau qui fonce à toute vitesse, le ciel lourd, ces couleurs bleues-grises, fantastique.

Bravo et amitié

Hello Bill,

I read that you without a good knowledge making this picture, I see no different between picture from now or this image.
I find this a very good picture, the bad weather is not the mistake of the photographer.
Your composition and the choice of the angle are very nice, only perhaps the light, withthe photoshop tool can this become resolved.
Very well done, TFS.

Have a nice sunday,
John.

Hi Bill,

even the cloudy day was not a problem for the clarity in this one. Actually it works pretty fine. The image is well divided, with two thirds for the sky. Superb definition and very good framing. Well done!

Carlos

Hi Bill Excellent shot, I observe Seoul? or see error? Have a picture that impresses. I liked the way of POV. She is little dark? In any case impressive and I like this point!
Georgios

Hey Bill,

Hmm, I haven`t spotted this one yet - well, I have, but I thought it was a bit older, glad to see you upload a photo of another country.
Although it is old and shot with a 1 MP camera it is still swell and well composed, with some interesting landscapes. Yes, you`ve learned a lot, but I guess you were a bit of a natural talent too. :)

Best regards.

Hi Bill,

The yacht on the river has an effect of scale. The point of view takes toward the bridge and the mountains in the background. There is a good contrast between the colors. The different curve line of the scenery are assets to the composition. have a nice day.

Pierre
