This was taken at Gyeongbokgung palace near Seoul's City Hall. The general led 4 guards to the palace gate then stood still in this pose.

Welcome to TE!
If you are starting with your interest in photography, this is a great place for learning and improving, and also having the feedback and opinion of people from around the world. This is quite unique.
This is a very good image for your first post, although in my screen some of the highlights appear just a little overexposed.
Just one tips.
The quality of the photos posted in the web, depends a lot on the process you apply to them for reduction, and the final size of the file.
You used an EOS M, which is a very good camera, with a 18 Mpx sensor, that should be producing big files. I imagine that you are shooting with the camera set at its highest resolution (and ideally in RAW).
This means that a lot of resizing has to be applied to the files before posting them.
During this process, you should apply a little of sharpening in order to preserve details; and also consider a final file size closer to the max allowed by the site where you are posting your images.
Kind regards and looking forward to your future posts!

You're capturing well thid portrait by a good composition and wxcellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the traditional clothes in the Joseon Dynasty. Considering a clothes, he seems to a high official. It's impressive in the clothes using colorful primary color and the round hat, too.

Yes, welcome to TE, its a fun and interesting place to learn about the world through photography and there are opportunities to meet TE members while traveling.
Hope you stick around.
Interesting set of photos on your first gallery page. What is REALLY interesting is to see the development in the photo's as time passes.
When taking photos of people, its also good to try angled shots, as apposed to the straight on composition like this. And of course the lighting here was really harsh, but thats not your fault. Its the time of day, taking photo's of any subject mid day is really difficult because you'll end up with white light - as you have here.
but keep trying, and also remember that subjects are most pleasing to the eye when they are NOT placed in the middle of the frame. Offset your subjects to about the 1/3 side of the frame, left, right, upper right 1/3 ,lower left 1/3...you get the point :)
Middle frame almost never works unless you have perspective lines emerging outwards from the middle subject...know what i mean?

Hello Razmig, i like the intention of this composition. Because there is to much light the bg get a bit washd out. I see you use 1/60 exposure. A shorter time would help to get less light on it.
