False Arch III near Baengnyeongdo Bridge Photo

Photographer’s Note

I will add a link showing the misleading optical illusion from another angle, that this structure resembles an arch, from a different perspective. This image clearly shows that the big rocks on the beach are separate.

Baengnyeongdo (Island) is 4 hours west by boat, (in the West Sea, separating China & Korea), from Seoul / Incheon, & well worth visiting.

Hello Chris,
I like the tones and textures in this interesting composition. They are well rendered under a pleasant ambient light. The sky with its swirling cloud formations contributes to the atmosphere.

Hi Chris,

The ripples on the sand are assets to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the rock formation. It is also taking our eyes toward the mountains which is giving depth to the composition. The luminosity is giving nice colors and shadows to the picture. Have a nice day.

Hi Chris,

The composition is very well balanced.
The angle of inclination of the rock suggests that it fractured. I like very much these textures - rocks, sand - and the good contrast of colors.

il y a vraiment beaucoup de choses à voir sur ces côtes et tes nombreux arrêts photos nous les font découvrir avec plaisir. Une photo qui ne manque pas de profondeur, mais un petit manque de naturel sur le contour des nuages.

From that pov, it is clear the two rocks are separated and it was a clever idea to add the other picture(a nice one!) to understand better the optical illusion. These rocks look beautiful, I like their texture/color tones...and the ripples on the sand. A good sense of depth as well!
