Jikjisa Park Bridge II Photo

Photographer’s Note

The entrance to the Jikji Sa Buddhist Temple, is a 10 minute walk away, over on the left, in front of the foremost bg spur. The grass has already been burnt by overnight frosts, & is no longer a lush green. The first Fall colours are starting to show, with the trees turning red & yellow.

This attractive park is reached by busses #11 & #111 from Gimcheon, 12 km away. The busstop is a 5-10 walk downstream from here. Taken around midday, with a polarizing filter. I had a bus to catch from Gimcheon at 3:30 pm, so left here at 2 pm. I would have liked to have stayed until 4, in the afternoon, but had to get back to Seoul, & start work again, after the 5 day 'Chuseok' Thanksgiving Holiday in Korea. I made the 5:29pm bullet train to Seoul in time, & was able to get my film developed, before the store closed at 7:30pm.

Hello Chris,
The rock strewn stream makes a good lead line, taking the eyes towards the charming stone bridge and then onto the green hills in the background. I like the attractive range of green tones under that lovely blue sky. Very good sharpness.

Hello Chris,

It has often occured to me ... do you speak Korean, or do the Koreans speak English? Otherwise it must be very difficult travelling about on trains and buses!

Back to the photograph, the stream makes a fine lead towards the bridge, and beyond. There is a lovely mixture of greens, with only the slightest hint of autumnal colours. Sharply focussed and with a good sense of depth.

Hi Chris,

The diagonal line of the bridge is an asset to the composition. The trees and the rock walls are framing well the stream. The point of view leads oue eyes toward the mountains which is giving depth to the photo. The colors are enhanced by the good luminosity. Have a nice day.

An old technique but I assume this is a more modern bridge!
A lovely place indeed, lush and surrounded by beautiful mountains, I also notice a touch of autumn in the foliage...
A balanced composition, where the dry river makes a fine lead-in!

a lovely landscape, very well caught. No matter the sun high in the sky (it must have be noon, maybe) you managed light so well that highlights and low lights are really well balanced.

you put the pespective very well to give a dramatic effect to this scenery. The balanced colours of the sky and environment make the place beautiful and attractive with lines trees and graphical arched bridged.
