Photographer’s Note
Although taken in S. Korea, this image's purpose is to bring attention to Haiku, an acient form of poetry. Matsuo Basho is probably the best known poet from this genre. I will leave specifics out in the hopes that you search for them yourself.
Having lived in both Japan and Korea (three in Japan and in my third in Korea), I can tell you that there is still much bad blood amongst the people of these countries towards each other. I am shocked when this attitude shows its ugly head in my younger students, but I guess some things are hard to be forgiven.
Hopefully time will mend the wounds.
