Photographer’s Note
Traditional Korean army swordfighters from feudal times, at the Hwaesoeng Palace in Suwon. A few seconds earlier, a spear made its mark on the target pigs head, in the bg. Almost a bullseye, too.
Touristy, but worth seeing, imho.

Hi Chris.
It's a pity the overexposition.
Anyway, I like it. I like the typical pictures.

Hi Chris,
good shot. Looks very genuine. If not real than part of a filmset.

hi chris
Interesting photo of these sword guys in full swing. Good capture and also with the target 'pig head' - in a way looks a little 'out of place' compared to the brave men with the big swords

Hi Chris,
like Gerit said it looks like part of a filmset for European eyes. I like the scenery of these swordfighters.
Nice surounding. A nice composition.

It may be a little touristy, but that is the only way to see traditional lifestyles and ceremonies. I like the way you included both of these guys, which gives a bit of repetition or mirror effect, which is always interesting. Nicely done!

Hi Chris,
Nice to see traditional soldiers in action. All of those weapons were also used in China but these soldiers wore the traditional Korean colours. A well taken documentary photograph. Good tech. quality.

Good shot from this event, Chris. Nice poses captured in the two swordfighters and the setting inside the yard of the palace with the typical architecture and lettering - also the color scheme - is certainly how one would envision such a scene.

Hi Chris. I feel like I'm in the middle of "The Last Samurai". That's a nice catch with the two of them simultaneously matching the other's movements. I like the colors too. tfs Chris.

Hi Chris,
A good timing, adn a dynamic pose.
I see gthat te Korean pagoda roofs are different from the Chines and also from the Japanese roofs, that's interesting. Anyway, good shot.

Hi Chris,
Good capture of the traditional Korean swordfighters. But I think the image as a whole is a bit overexposed. Otherwise a lovely TE post.
Best regards

Hi Chris,
Touristy, so what ? Most probably the kind of scene I would have enjoyed as a tourist too, because it carries the exotism (for me) of this country, a nice and proud attitude you captured here in front of an equally nice background and better forget about the sky ;-)
I read in the news today the storms in Korea have claimed quite a high number of casualties.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hi Chris,
Well composed with much vibrant colour and dynamism. You controlled the light here well, as there was danger of overexposure of the ground. I like the symmetry at play here, with the two swordfighters perfectly in sync. The traditional building in the background is well seen and its details appreciated. Well captured, Chris.

Hi Chris.
Interesting document even if this kind of show is a bit touristic (as you said).

Nice moment for catching this photo and great oriental mood.

Hi Chris, Those weapons shown look pretty fearsome, similar to some in ancient China also. Good to see them being used in a practice session like this. Good cropping clarity and colour. TFS. Murray.
