Photographer’s Note
A close-up of the interlocking rooves / roofs at Hawseong Fortress in Suwon. This place has been destroyed by the Japanese several times, & partly rebuilt. From Wikipedia:
"Hwaseong Fortress (Brilliant Fortress) is located in Suwon, South Korea which is 30 kilometers from Seoul. It was built from 1794 to 1796. Jeongjo of Joseon constructed the fortress complex to house the remains of his father Sukjong who was forced to commit suicide by being shut in a rice chest by King Yeongjo. King Jeongjo wanted to honor his father with the building of the fortress.
The fortress was designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage site in 1997 CE."

Hi Chris. Difficult strong light (and traces of overexposure at the top) but as you limited the frame to just the graphical maze of roof patterns and the way they blend together, it's mostly fine. Well framed.
I know that you are the teacher now, but I'm 99.9% sure it is "roofs", not "rooves".

Hi Chris,
Oh, I love this picture! An unbelievable superposition of the all these curved plains, and great sharpness on the colourful details. I like how the frame is filled with these patterns, similar yet different.
Cheers

Salut mon Ami,
Très amusante et intéressante ta photo d'aujourd'hui. Le cadrage de cette composition très riche en toits (il y en a dans tous les sens) est parfait. On peut y admirer les finitions;

Hi Chris,
Roofs must be one of the things in Korea that first fascinates visitors, I remember early Rafal posts were about them too, I love the PoV here that shows so many shapes of them, but the light is still challenging;
Have a nice sunday,

Bonjour mon ami Chris,
J'aime ce plan serré sur ces toitures de pagode. Formes géométriques élégantes, couleurs délicates très bien rendues.
Très joli tableau d'entrelacs de toitures.
Very well work !
Amitiés.

Great idea to use the telephoto compression to bring the roof lines all together and make this a study in the roof type. The effect is very pleasing and gives this a very artistic look. Well done!

Hi Chris, Interesting styles of these oriental roof types. The heavy ceramic curves are really special and this images captures them very well. Very clear with superb colours. Murray.

Hi Chris,
I like the overlay of lines and patterns here. Lots of detail all over this one. I think though you need to get yourself a polarizer, they are super cheap and as you shoot a lot o sky, I think it will help you a lot by controlling the light and giving your photos the blue skies they need.

Salut Chris,

Hi Chris - the colours look a little washed out but compositionally a triumphant success, the chaotic ornate patterns look wonderful, and the architectural details are remarkable. (the spelling discussion gave me a welcome monday morning laugh)

HI Chris,
What a panoply of interlocking designs and shapes. I like the way you have framed this and the cropping is well executed. The two roofs in mid-frame with the appearance of green scrolls really dominate. Superb sharpness and clarity. A good capture.

Hello Chris,
That's my boy, a picture style which I am so fond of. You'll see similar roofs in the Forbidden City at Beijing very soon.
An accumulation of stylish roofs compressed with a tele lens. The resul is stunning, and I appreciate it very much.
Suwon, is a place I had visited once in 1956, for the main reason that there was a Korean-Turkish school which was sponsored by the Turkish Brigade: I still have BW pictures
taken during this visit. Students playing in a
small orchestra.
All the best for you - Izzet
