Photographer’s Note
A detail from a wall at the reconstructed Hwaseong Fortress in Suwon, south of Seoul. The fortress was destroyed by the Japanese last century, but rebuilt. It is now a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage listed site.
Resized to 730, sharpened to 50%, & saved with 75% quality in 'Gimp'.

Hi Chris,
Nice and clear shot of a wall picture! Colors are well visible in spite of low contrast on the wall. Tfs.

You know what? I've got exactly the same photo! Although mine wasn't as sharp! I cropped my version thus getting rid of the lines , but mind you keeping them in gives the photo a double frame!

Hi Chris,
A fascinating mural detail. I like the hues and tones and how they blend so well with the underlying rock surface. The lighting and clarity are superb. Very fine work.

Amazing clarity and colour in this. One thing that I noticed is that it appears to have different levels (with the artwork and the texture of the surface mixing with each other), yet it is obviously a flat, 2 dimensional surface. Makes me want to see what it looks like in real life. Great capture!

Very nice picture Chris. I love these documentary pictures for I really the impression to learn something when I look at it. I would have certainly cropped the left part for I don't see any interesting detail in it.

Hello Chris,
This sensational image from 2 1/2 years ago came up in the random-order display of images on your Intro page. Although very similar, the images have just enough variation to show that they are not produced by a cookie cutter technique. Excellent colors and resolution. I wonder when the Hwaseong Fortress was built.
War,regards.
