Photographer’s Note
This is the main shrine that houses an official portrait of Admiral Yi Sun Shin. 'HyeongChoongSah" is written on the panel which pretty means the 'Shrine of Yi Sun Shin'.
Under the sign there is a large open door with view of the big hall wherein is the portrait/shrine. You can pay your respects and write your name in the guest book.
In order to get to this shrine, you have to walk up a gently ascending hill for about 600 meters (my guess) from the front gate. In between the hills there is the museum and Yi Sun Shin family's old house as well as numerous shrines, ponds, and other stuff.
In autumn or spring, it would have been a please in the park like environment. In the post-Monsoon heat, it was.... wet and hot.
As I was only armed with a 70-200mm, I was sorry I didn't have a wide angle lens to get the full shot. I've consoled myself with this pov.
I've always been fascinated and bewildered by the colorful patterns in the eaves - kind of Korean-Chinese-Buddhist style I guess. If anybody knows about how that style developed, please let me know.
Light PP on PS without cropping.
